The Roost Luxury Glamping scooped two coveted Gold awards. One for Best Glamping Business and the other for Ethical, Responsible & Sustainable Tourism.
This is the fourth time we have been a finalist in a national tourism business awards in the last five years
We’re delighted to have won. To be named as best glamping business and the most sustainable one too is a huge boost. It feels extra special as it will be The Roost’s fifth birthday on 13th December, and given that the symbol for a five year anniversary is wood, these trophies seem very fitting indeed!
The cabins have consistently enjoyed occupancy rates of over 85%, with many repeat guests. We are a very romantic place – there have been many marriage proposals and honeymoons on site since we opened. It all helps to raise the profile of the area too and has put the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley firmly on the ‘must see’ tourist map!”

Kathryn Davis from VisitWest said “We are thrilled that so many of our businesses have been rewarded for all their incredible achievements this year with their success at the awards and look forward to seeing some of our winners hopefully progress into the national Visit England for Excellence finals next year. We have so many iconic destinations and world class experiences in the region, it is important to remember to celebrate this, and that tourism doesn’t just happen. It is thanks to the investment, creativity and hard work of these businesses that make our visitor economy so valuable, worth more than £2.5bn just to the West of England. While this sector is largely made up of many small businesses, together they are incredibly powerful and thoroughly deserve the recognition received this evening.”
